"Gossip and scandal are the best sweeteners for tea". Each tea saucer had a little quote under it, this one was my favorite. 
Crown & Crumpet is the most lovely tea shop in Ghiradelli Square. It is nothing but pink and flowers. We enjoyed a delightful afternoon sipping their "house blend" and a few bottles of champagne. Scones with clotted cream were a new indulgence for all the Americans at the table. My favorite were the chicken curry and cucumber sandwiches. Then after all of those refreshments we wandered around the gift shop.
