I am fortunate enough to have a friend that lives in Rome. She was a wonderful host. The best parts of our stay there were relaxing with her in her lovely penthouse just outside the city walls. One night we tried out a local restaurant called Shooters. Nothing other than the name was American. I had a huge plate of pasta with tomato and bacon sauce. You can never go wrong with bacon, it was amazing.
We saw the Vatican and Villa Borghese while we were there. Rome is such a huge city filled to the brim with history and culture. You must visit to truly understand the scope of the place.
