In case my description of "Umbrellas of Cherbourg" as a foreign film musical wasn't enticing enough I had to share a few still shots. This movie has been described as a "Pop-Art Opera". Just look at the color of these walls! The umbrella shop alone is covered head to toe in striped bright wallpaper then accented perfectly with stacks and stacks of colorful umbrellas. After watching it once for the plot, a beautiful tale about star-crossed lovers Genevieve and Guy, watch it again just for the set design.
